I have a user whose password will change by itself without reason or anyone changing it. When this happens, the location and connection docs will go missing and the default location docs will be created.
I have reformatted the computer and installed W2k pro and fresh install Notes 6 client but this still happens. I have also recreated a new mail file for this user.
The problem doesn’t seem to be on the client side. Any idea if there’s anything running in the server that might have caused this?
Subject: Which Password?
Their Notes (user ID) password, or the “internet” passoword?
If the former, then my guess would be something wacky with the data directory (are there more than one? Is the user perhaps looking at different data directories at differnet times?) Remember different copies of a Notes ID file can have differnt passowrds.
If the latter, then the problem is in your NAB, perhaps it isn’t replicating properly or the user is connecting to differnet servers.
Subject: Password changed by itself
A password cannot “change” by itself. Where is the password stored? (i.e. is the data directory local or on a server).
