while starting the domino console its asking for server.id password, but in the past it was not asked for the password.i am facing this from last week. i know the password but i like to know why he starts asking for password during console startup

Are you sure it’s asking for the server id password? It could be asking for the console locking password, which could have been set via the “set secure” command. (Or it could have been set directly by editing the notes.ini file. Don’t ask me the entry name. I don’t recall it off the top of my head.)

No dear rich schwartz it is not asking for console locking password as consolse locking passwords are asked after loading of domino server
when i start the server console the following two lines was firstly displayed on the console -:
The ID file being used is: E:\lotus\domino\data\server.id
Enter password ( press the Esc key to abort ):

Well then, the server id has a password and the server is supposed to ask for it. Therefore, the real mystery is why didn’t it ask for it before last week, and the only possible answer is that before last week there was a version of the server.id that didn’t have the password, and last week it was replaced or updated.

From the admin client select Tools>Certification>ID properties> select server.id file and remove the password
