Is this supposed to work?
I have 4 Passthru server. Their Passthru configuration are the same.
Let say their Names are:
Passthru1
Passthru2
Passthru3
Passthru4
They are all reachable from the Internet and have access to all the others Domino Servers in the cie.
I created a Cluster Group called Passthru_Cluster and added the above server in the cluster.
If I do a “SH Cluster” on every servers, everything is perfect… they are able to see each other.
On a Test Client, I have set the default Passthru Server in the Location document to PassThru1.
I have also created a passthru connection doc to his Home Mail Server via PassThru1.
This test user is using a modems and connect to the Internet via his ISP.
Here is what will happen:
If Passthru1 is available:
The test user will be able to get his mail.
If PassThru1 is not available, but All others are:
The Test user will get his mail and use one of the three passthru server that are still available.
If Two Passthru Server is not available:
Case1:
The client will receive an error about Passthru1 (Which is the default passthru Server)"PassThru1 is not available). The user will not be able to get his mail.
Case2: Sometime the user is able to get his mail threw one of the two remaining server.
If Three PassThru Server are not available:
The user is never able to get his mail threw the remaining passthru server who is a members of the cluster.
Why I’m not able to access the mailbox when the default passthru server is down as well as another random server ?
