Partitioning advices for new linux domino server

Hello,

we’re currently planning to dismiss our old domino server on windows moving on to a new linux one and i would gladly accept some advices about the disk partitioning and the machine resources.

Actual machine:

-4vcpu, 8Gb Ram and 3 partitions: 40 GB for o.s., 800 gb for domino folder (about 440gb used) and the last one with 40gb for transaction logs.

The server has about 130 users and the DAOS even if enabled had been activated only on few dabatases, while in the new one we would like to set it up for every db.

My actual plan would be this:

-Vm on Esx with Suse Enterprise server SP3

-4 vcpu

-At least 8 gb of ram

-3 vdisks: one for operating system (about 30 GB) , one for data (about 600GB planning that DAOS will save a lot of space) and a last one for transaction logs. The logs disk will

be on raid 10 storage in order to improve performances. We’ll use LVM in order to have easy manage if we’ll need to expand the storage.

Any advise and/or suggestion?

Thanks for your help.
