During installation of the 8.0.2 client from a remote network drive intermittently gives the error “Partial installation and setup occurred” with an OK button and on clicking that the installation completes. On launching the upgraded client however there are various errors regarding logs.zip and error-log-0.xml. Uninstalling and re-installing the client solves the problem (which is IBM’s workaround).I’ve researched this and can see various people reporting similar problems with Sametime installation and one person installing the Notes client on Linux.
IBM has a technote which says a CCH was produced for 8.0.1 to solve this problem but this is a problem I’m having with 8.0.2 and they have no solutions posted for that version.
My network installation files have not changed since November and 1000 users upgraded successfully before Christmas. Only in the last few weeks have there been issues like this.
I’m wondering if it’s something to do with McAfee because recent changes have been made to our McAfee config.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Do you also happen to have McAfee installed?
