PAB template missing in names.nsf on client

I have new clients who’ve been upgraded to mail8.ntf. One person’s contacts is still using the R7 contact format, however when I view other R8.0.1 names.nsf’s on other pc’s, the template value is blank. So I don’t know what template to apply to the names.nsf that still appears in R7 format. Anyone with any idea of what the template should it be?

Subject: R8 template

Not sure why your user’s names.nsf wasn’t upgraded automaticaly. Open their names.nsf and select File/Application/Refresh Design. Keep the default selection of “Local”. It should refresh the design using the local contacts template, which, if they installed R8, will be the correct version.

Thanks for the response. I tried your suggestion but that resulted in a message box saying the design refresh failed…

sounds like possibly some corruption in the names.nsf.

What about trying a File/App/Replace Design?

If that gives you errors, I suggest making a notes copy of names.nsf (to a filename name2.nsf), then replace design of that copy. Exit Notes and rename names2.nsf to names.nsf.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was ‘corrupted’. This user has a way of corrupting just about everything on his computer (at one time or another).
