We upgraded the server from 5.0.12 to 6.5.1. Mailboxes in the notes50.ntf format work as they used to, with the OutOfOffice line present under the Tools list. It doesnt exist when the template is upgraded to notes6.ntf. Where did it go? Is there a different way to run the agent?
Second question. Say two people set the out-of-office agent, and one of them sends an email to the other. Will a notification email bounce back and forth between them?
Third question. For one user, I’m getting a message saying his outofoffice agent doesnt have the permissions. Where do you set someones outofoffice agent permissions?

You can only see the OOA in the Tools list if you are the mailfile owner. (That’s good, because you don’t want a non-owner to turn it on, as it sings it as from them.)
-
The OOA is set up to only send one notification to each sender, so it should go like this:
A sends to B
B OOA notice goes to A
A OOA notice goes to B
no further notices are sent
- User needs to have Designer with Create Lotusscript/java agents enabled in the ACL.

Maria gave you compelete answers to 1 and 2. I wanted to add to question three.
Third question: In release 6 there are a few options available on the level of permissions. Agent FAQ has a good article on this called “Deconding ND6 agents”. Maria gave you the simplest answer that was the only option in release 5 and still works.
