Ok. This is driving me crazy. I have been searching through the posts, but have not found what I need.
I have an organization that is using Exchange. They own two Enterprise copies of Domino for a single database application. It is a hugh waste of money. Their Exchange is costing them big money to maintain.
They are willing to consider Domino as the back end, as long as they can reliably use their Outlook Clients.
I am trying to setup my system as a test for them on my system, to show how easy it is to do.
Problem is that after putting in the IMAP and SMTP information into the Outlook client, I am able to receive messages, but cannot send. I keep receiving the following error:
SMTP Server Attempt to relay mail from [IP Address] rejected for policy reasons. Relays from host denied in your configuration.
Authenticated users are able to set to be able to relay internally.
Subject: RE: Outlook Client to Domino Server receives, but does not send.
Sorry, I should have explained better.
I have a test box is in my DMZ. I can put in the ipaddress of my Gateway, I can send and receive. Works great.
I was wondering if it would be possible to allow Outlook clients to send and receive without putting in the IP address to access the server without compromizing security.
I know that I can do a VPN type of solution to resolve, but am weighing the options.
