Outlook 2007 to Notes 8 contacts

I have a excel 2007 spreadsheet with about over 80,000 contacts in it from another agencies Exchange server and want to import them into a contacts database.

Excel 2007 doesnt have wk4 formats and not sure how this can be done

suggestions

Subject: See this MS technote

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922848/

and then check your registry to see if the LotusandQuattroFiles file formats are blocked

Once unblocked, you should be able to save as a 123 format file, at least until the next round of MS patches puts the reg key back.

Here’s IBM’s response

You’ll need at least two PCs, one with Office2007 to save it to an older Office legacy file format.

Then the other PC running that legacy Office version, to then save it as an IBM compatible format.

Sure would be nice if Notes 8.5 's import dialog or Symphony would bridge this incompatibilty gap for us.

Subject: exchange contacts import

I dont see why notes 8 cant import a outlook contacts by just doing file import and bringing them in. Outlook can bring in notes so I dont know why this wasnt designed to bring in a competitive package

Subject: Upgrade utility migrates Outlook contacts

There is an upgrade utility for migrating Outlook contacts to Notes. See http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21191305. You can also import contacts that are in vcard format.

Is there any way to save to wk4 or wk5 in excel 2007?

I have a xlsx file with the list of contacts that exceeds 80,000 contacts and want to use excel 07 to bring them into notes 8.01

Subject: Save to xls first

use excel 2007 to save as xls first and later use other type of office application to open it and save it to wk4 or 5.
