hi,
we use a connection doc to route messages to the internet to 4 mailgateways. i created a internal sub-domain in DNS and created 4 mx-records for this gateways and pasted this sub-domain in the connection doc. load balancing is working fine, but if one of these 4 gateways is down, all messages that domino wanted to route to this host are waiting in the mail.box for the next retry. and also new mails will be routed to the host that gives no response. so, waiting mails are raising up.
“tell router show” results in in the case of these mails:
100 Busy SMTP [$Retry hostname.domain.net] (Push)
when i reduce the retry-interval, nothing changes. domino want to route these mails to the not-responding-host all time.
other mails are routed to the 3 other gateways.
when i restart the router, these mails will be delivered tho other gateways.
how can i change this? wy domino doesn´t use one of the other gateways if one failed?
how can i say domino if one host failed, try one of the others and don´t keep the mails for the failed host?
is there any cache i can delete, or something?
