Out of Office

Hello,Can I, and if so how, setup Out of Office agent for another user. I have Full Admin access the server and user mail files. If I open other users mail file there is no Out of Office in the Tools menu. So how this is normally done?

Thanks a lot

You have to switch to the User ID of the mail database owner and then you’ll see the OoO Agent…

OK. The only problem is that even if I’m the admin I don’t know or remember all users passwords. So if I am unable to contact the user I would need to change his Notes password to use his ID?

Hi,

I think this is possible when accessing the mail file via inotes.

OK, thanks! This still means that I have to change the notes internet password and users mail file template to iNotes.

This doesn’t sound like the right way to do this. I wonder how IBM originally has figured this out.

I think it’s a pretty normal scenario in most companies that if a employee calls in sick in the morning there is someone that will turn on the OoO agent. I just would like to know how?

Lotus Notes works as designed… If you () were allowed to launch an OOO for another one, this agent will send a message “ is not …”, because the OOO agent uses the signer name (so, the one who activate this agent) to compute the name in the message, it’s a limitation of the OOO function.
