I am having a problem with the out of office agent. Whenever a certain user tries to enable the agent nothing happens, no email is sent out and the user is not prompted to turn off the agent when they return. I have deleted the agent and refresh design on the database and still no good. I have gotten it to run by changing the server that the agent is ran on from an IP address to the server name itself. But not only is the agent now signed by me and out of office emails are sent out by me, but when the user comes back and gets prompted to disable the agent the server that the agent is ran on changes back to an IP address. I also have prohibit design refresh checked. Please help!

Have you resolved this problem yet?I would suggest you look at the user’s location document. If the ‘server to run on’ is an IP address instead of a server name, it suggests to me that when the user is enabling the agent, the ‘server to run on’ setting is getting changed, and the home/mail server field in their location is a good place to start.

A few questions first…
What release are you using?
What is the user’s level of access in the ACL?
Have you restricted who can run agents in the server document?
Is adminp running, i.e. does admin4.nsf show any errors?
