I’m looking for any kinds of suggestions for someone who’s out of office on a set schedule. I have a employee who’s going back to school and is out of the office noon - 5:00PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Rather than have her set the out of office thing on and off every time she leaves I was looking into an agent. The problem I ran into is that if you schedule an agent to just run on a day it only runs at one time. Is there some way I can setup an agent that runs every hour but only on specific days and inbetween specific times? Any alternatives without getting too heavy into LS (which I’m not very familair with)? Thanks,
You can use formula language to code an agent. Schedule would be more than once a day, on the schedule tab indicate to run hourly from 12:00 - 5:00 and enable “Don’t Run on weekends”, assuming you don’t need it to run Sat or Sun. Code your agent to stop if the weekday is Tuesday or Thursday. Your agent might look something like this:
SendTo := From;
dontrunon := “3” : “5”;
@If(@WeekDay = dontrunon; @Return(“”);
@MailSend(SendTo;“”;“”; "Out of office: " + Subject; “”; “”; “”)
Improved out of office capabilities include the option to specify hours in addition to dates. With a new out of office service on the Lotus Domino 8 server, colleagues who send you mail may receive notification of your absence almost immediately.
but this would still not fullfil the request since the user is in all day on Tues and Thurs. In order to work properly the agent would need to allow the user to choose what days to run, as well as what hours to run between.
I think the code from your idea would work like this, right Paul? I like that and think it would work although I don’t know how to choose just new emails? When you setup your agent to run on a scheudle you don’t have the option to set it to only look at new emails. Is there something in formula langauge to determine if an email has been viewed or not?
