Out Of Office lists as enabled - though disabled (Service)

We have domino 8.5.1 server and 8.5.0 fp1 clients. OOO set as a service.

One user has been moved from R7 server to R 8.5.1 server, upgraded client to 8.5.0 fp1 and mailbox converted to 8.5 template. He keeps getting OOO reminders several times a day:

(Out-Of-Office summary : While you were out no one was notified of your absence).

He has 3 replicas of his mail : Mailserver, Webmailserver, Local client. All three have the agent disabled and replicate correctly.

I have deleted the OOO agent, replicated and run a “load convert” on his mailbox.

The Domino administrator filelist lists the OOO as “enabled” on the mailfile. Running Tell router o lists the database as having OOO enabled. AMGR does not list OOO as enabled.

Enabling it manually looks like it makes OOO work. Disabling the OOO again makes the OOO interface say OOO is disabled, but it is still listed as enabled by the router. Restarting router does not change this.

What’s the trick now?

Subject: service vs agent

If you are getting reminders, it means the agent is enabled somewhere. OOO service auto turns off, it does not send reminders.

Do your users use iNotes? There was a problem with iNotes where the agent would be turned on instead of the service. If the problem is with iNotes manipulating OOO from the Notes Client should give you the expected results. There is a hot fix to address iNotes issue with OOO.

A quick comment here to remove one possible confusion point. OOO in Admin file list (and tell router o console command) do not update the status until the user receives a message following the OOO experiation/turn off. So even though OOO is not active for effeciency the bit is not updated untill the router has something to do in the user mail file (or if the user does not get any mail at 4 am maintenance). So there is a lag in status reporting whether OOO service is active or not.

Subject: quoted spr refers to agent

RDJS7QRQNC refers to the agent configuration, Klaus stated that the server is configured as service.
