We are using german notes clients with Domino 8.02 and 8.51 servers using the the german language pack.
All clients should be installed / migrated (from 6.5x) identically as they install a packaged version of the client.
Now there is an issue with the OOS. For some users all text and the summary is displayed completely in german for others there is the generated text and the summary written in english.
I think I checked everything (including regional setting in the preferences) and there seems to be no reason for english text and even less reason for different behaviour between identical clients.
It looks like that the “Agent” is creating german messages while the “Service” is using english.
This can be verified by the field “GeneratedBy” which is either “OOService” or “OOAgent”.
Interestingly the messages created look absolute identical. I was under the wrong impression that you could see from the layout of the message if the “Agent” or “Service” is running.
So we now just have to find out how to teach the service german
