Out of Office error "A request to enable the OOO agent is in progress... "

There are several users getting this error msg when trying to enable the OOO agent.

“A request to enable the OOO agent is in progress. Please, wait momentarily for the server to enable the agent” Once I click OK on that one, another error msg shows up saying:

“You need to replicate your mailfile with your mail server in order to enable / disable the Out of Office. If you don’t replicate now your OOO will not enable / disable.”

I replaced and reffreshed the design of the database; user is using the correct ID file. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Have you tried deleting the Out of Office Agent and the (Out of Office Profile)? If not, try deleting those and then refresh the design of the mail file again.

If you are using the dwa template, you may want to consider replacing the design using the mail template if that is an option. There are some issues with the dwa template and the OOO agent/profile.

Hello All,

Some of our users are also seeing same error message, “A request to enabled the out of office agent is in progress…”. Users have editor access on their mail files. We do have hourly local replication setup with server in the office location document. They also cannot disable this agent. At the same time users do not have access to create private agents and script and java agents. We do use DWA7 template too.

This issue remains the same even if I change their access from editor to manager in the mail file.

Can someone help on this matter ASAP.

thanks,

Shevali.

assuming the users have Editor access to their mail file means they do not have the rights (designer) to enable the agent themselves. This menas that an AdminP request must get submitted to the user’s home mail server in order for the server to enable the agent. make sure the Default setting in admin4.nsf is set to Author w/Create Documents. Confirm that a request to enable the OOTO agent gets created and also make sure that the request falls under the server’s canonical name. if only the server’s common name or the wrong server name is indicated in the MailServer field in the location doc this will cause a problem.

Taking Paul’s initial response a little further, are the users who receive this message “remote” users or do they have their location documents set up to work with a local mail replica?
