Out of Office, Alternate Notification and Exclusions

We have been asked a question I am getting ready to test, but thought I would ask, anyway.

We have been “directed” to not send an OoO to internet addresses. However, we can have exceptions. If I put @myprivatedomain.com in the Alternate Notification, will that override the check box “Do not automatically reply to mail from Internet addresses”?

Thanks for any insight.

Subject: Are you using agent or service?

In the OOO service, internet setting will take precendent for sure. The check happens early and otherlogic is not performed.

In the OOO agent, I think this is the case as well, I am just less sure because I don’t know that code as well.

Subject: Thank you.

Thanks, Julie for your response. To answer your question, we’re using the OoO Service. I did send a test message and the “Do not automatically reply to messages from Internet Addresses” took precedence.

A feature enhancement that would be nice is to specify certain internet addresses that would receive an OoO reply while all others would not.
