OSX: Mail Fields Cursor Move Issue

open new mail messageclick into “to”-, “cc”- or “bcc”-field

Type some text (doesn’t matter whether they are valid mail entries)

click somewhere into the string - i-beam and text appear at the expected position

key a cmd-right(to move the i-beam to the far right)

i-beam blinks at the far right - as expected

key some letters: they appear at the position of the former i-beam and NOT at the far right!

option-left/right work ok, cmd-left/right show the wrong behavior

I didn’t test other plafs

Subject: Always reproduce?

Thanks for your feedback.I can’t reproduce it on both basic and standard client. Do you always reproduce?

Is updated your beta 2 build?

Subject: I can reproduce it…

Works exactly the same way for me. Cmd±>, cursor moves to end, actual insertion point remains at the original position. I managed this by typing abcdef into the field, moving the cyrsor to between c and d, then doing the Cmd±>.

I have 10.5.5 and Notes Beta 2. I also installed all recent apple updates, which included a Java update last week or the week before, don’t know if that’s relevant or not, I didn’t try this until today.

I also tried using the “End” key on my Macally keyboard, and that method works correctly.

Subject: Well,…

Yes, absolutely I could! But since the crash () later in the day it’s gone! I tested on another Notes install and yes it’s gone!Well, then this is one of those issues very, very difficult to reproduce and debug!

As there have been more occasions where the Mac Notes Client is in an unexpected state - from the running code’s point of view - isn’t there a tool to take a “snapshot” delivering you guys state information from the running Notes client, helping to investigate such cases?
