The right-hand Bookmarks Bar didn’t pickup my icons upon reinstall.
I did an uninstall of Notes and then re-installed Notes 8.5 Public Beta 1. The right-hand bookmark bar shows generic icons without updates.

Subject: How do you even get the bookmark bar?
In my Notes 8.5_M1, I don’t even have a bookmark bar and can’t find any way to turn it on (including looking in the help db).
How did you activate the bookmark bar (which I assume you meant was on the LEFT, not the RIGHT of the screen).
Oh discovered how to do this by right clicking the “Open” button.
