Organizational Unit

Hi,

I have a user with multiple organizational units (eg. X, Y and Z). In our person directory we have the user record with (OU as X) and in the username of the record all the OU (X, Y and Z) of that user has been added.

Emails to any OU (X, Y and Z) gets forwarded to the address are routed to that person correctly.

But in the Notes database if they use different OU id’s it doesn’t works because the ID file used by the person has the OU as X. If they choose Y or Z as reviewers they could n’t get their proper functionality.

Could you please suggest anyways so that the mails should be forwarded also all the OU’s in the database should work fine.

Thanks in advance.

Subject: Name changes

Emails will always resolve to the first name listed in the fullname field on the person doc.

For database acl you really either need to list a admin server for the db so a adminp request will change the acl or the best approach would be to always use groups (acl only or mixed) and there will be no issue as group list will get updated when a user is renamed/recertified.

Subject: Multiple OU’s

You could crete mail rules for this user to ssend email to specific users based upon how it is addressed, but this is only a band-aid for this issue. The major issue would be to properly named.certify the user. If he requires multiple aliases, you might think about mail in databases.
