When I open an email with an attachment called Untitled I receive a message below
This document is read only. If you make changes in the ole object they cannot be saved because the document is read only.
Do you still want to open the ole object?
When I click OK I receive this message.
An error occurred while processing a request on an object.
After this I cannot get the attachment to open.
Any suggestions?
Subject: Opening Attachment
This is not an attachment, it’s an OLE object. The difference is that, if it were an attachment, the actual file would be included in the e-mail. An OLE object is just a link to the file; it actually exists outside the e-mail, and you are linking to the file by clicking on the object in the e-mail.
Is it just this one OLE object that you are having trouble with?
If so, have the person who sent it to you check on why you can’t access it.
Is it on a network share that you don’t have access to? or that you have mapped differently than the sender does? Is it a file that exists on the user’s hard drive?
