I’m creating an annoucment database that would send out an doc link via email. I would like to know if there is a way to open a doclink at Postopen or OnLoad event.
So when the user opens his/her email, the postevent code will open the doclink in the email and will take them directly to the document. How do I do that? Any idea?

Before doing this, you should think whether you want to update the mail template for any changes. If so all users in your Domino Directory will be effected the next day. Also you need to make sure that, only this particular email in inbox will open the doclink. Otherwise all emails containing different doclinks will also try to open automatically and fail as those may not be from the same database as this one. Hence have a clear picture before doing this and decide whether to proceed or not depending on your requirement.
If you want to open the doclink automatically, you can use this class.method —> notesRichTextDocLink.DocUNID which gives you universal id of the target document. Using this you can get the document from a database where it resides and open it up. See Example of that method for better understanding.
