I’m working on a web application with parent and response documents.
so from the existing parent document i want to open a new response. With the &ParentUnid it should be possible, to inherit the values from the given unid.
But it doesn’t work in my application.
cross made on “inherit fields…” in form properties
default view is existing
$ref field value is always empty…
so what am i doing wrong? did i forget something?

When are you checking the $ref field? It only gets populated when you save the response…

you are right…
and another reason:
i forgot to put the default values into the fields which should inherit… i do this now with @thisValue…
and it works.

I guess using @thisvalue works, but personally I would use the ‘old school’ method of the field name on the parent document you want to inherit FROM. This is because the field names on the response you inherit into don’t actually have to have the same names as those on the parent form/document.
