Hello!
I have a form where a user supplies names, subject, body and a couple of other pieces of information to mail a survey.
My “Send” button appends a link (using lotus script):
notes://server1/Surveys.nsf/CSS?OpenForm
This works fine AS LONG AS THE RECEIVING USER OPENS THE DATABASE FIRST! Otherwise an error is thrown “… database design element is not found”.
The database does inherit design from a template. I’ve already refreshed the design from the template, then tried replacing the design from the template. Those users that have already opened the database since implementation have no problem using the link. Most users have accessed this database in the past, to complete other surveys.
I would really rather not ask users to open the database, close the database, then come back to the email and click on this link! (Notes is already considered trivial by the execs, last thing I need is to have this asinine workaround for a simple survey!)
Any ideas?!? Thank you in advance!!!
Subject: Anyone have any ideas? Implementation date was yesterday! TYIA
Subject: Was this ever resolved I have the same problem!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Notes for mail? If so, there are better ways to open a survey than by linking with a Notes URL.

Hi! Yes. Will your suggested solutions work using LS? The way I’ve designed this particular survey, I need the sender to complete a form which will then mail the survey (and I need to give the user an RT field in which to format the body text however they want).

There are darned few things that can’t be done with LotusScript and DXL. Contact me directly with the particulars (my address is on my profile, just click on my name to get there). It would take like a month of back-and-forthing to get it straightened out in here.
