Subject: Domino Server Healthcheck

While DDM has standard probes for DAOS, they are after the event - you learn from your users very quickly when they can’t access attachments long before you look in DDM! Is there any battery of monitoring parameters that might help predict when the Catalog is hitting a set of conditions that will cause it to require a forced resync?

Subject: Health check through historical stats (existing tools)

Hi,

Whenever I go into a new Domino site I tend to customise statrep to display historical stats in a way I need to analyse server performance over time. I will usually export these stats to be imported into a spreadsheet for graphing.

Current admin tools for monitoring server health are fairly limited out of the box. Even DDM is quite limited with some of the reports run once and that’s it but if your system is set up properly.

I understand that this is stepping into the realm of third parties here but out of the box the product reporting is pretty limited.

Are there any plans to enhance existing tools such as Statrep or the cut down Tivoli Analyser embedded in the Admin client in later releases?

Subject: Clarification on the Open Mic Call topic

Hi,

Would like to know the further meaning of “Domino Server Health Check” that mentioned here.

Is there any 3rd party tool that will bring in to this topic for carry out the Domino Server health check? Or the health check will be carry out by the Domino self-build app like DCT or DDM.

Q & A

Subject: Troubleshooting for mails that needto restart router to deliver

Hi,

Recently, we encountered that some emails could not be deliver. Only by doing a “tell router quit” and “load route”, these emails will then sent out immediately.

How to find out the cause of this problem?

Our domino was in 8.5.1 FP3.

Thanks.

Subject: Try to check the router status

Hi there,

You may try to issue the console command >> “tell router show” to check the status of the pending mail in mail.box, it could be due to the network traffic problem between your Domino server & SMTP gateway.

Subject: Clustering Health Check

Can this call cover some of the best practices of health checks for cluster replication, failover response time, etc. Thanks,

Irv
