we recently upgraded to 8.5.1 and one of our user’s notes client is now freezing when trying to acces a folder in his bookmarks.
Most of the bookmarks are working fine, but there seems to be a problem with one of the folders. everytime the folder has been clicked, the client freezes and mostly crashes.
i ran fixup on the bookmark.nsf and tried it on a different machine, same result. it’s the “Favourite Bookmarks” folder. user is roaming-user.

We have had issues like that, except that Notes would freeze on startup once the bookmark/workspace had openened.
We de-activated the option to re-open all windows as they were when notes was closed and then it worked. It is in Preferences - Windows and Themes.
I am not sure this will be the solution, as your problem seems a bit different, but maybe.

The notes client is opening this website because somewhere in his ‘memory’ he thinks he has to go back there
Maybe find the Db/document that is looking for this website and temporarily remove it, maybe it won’t hang again and by next exit this reference will not be saved into memory again - and won’t be called at next start ?
