Ooops! - I just dragged and dropped 542 documents onto my bookmark bar

Yes, I know, what a stupid mistake. It was an accident and I just blame it on my clumsy mouse technique!

Anyhow, does anyone know of a quick way to remove all these bookmarks?

At present I am stuck with right clicking each one individually and selecting remove bookmark from the context menu. I really don’t want to have to do this 500+ times!

Oh, and edit->undo is not available!

Subject: Open bookmark.nsf in the designer client…

go to Outlines/UserBookmarkOrder. Select the first document bookmark, scroll to the last document, hold down SHIFT, click on the document, delete…

Have you tried opening the bookmarks database and just deleting the bookmark documents? You’ll need to do the CTRL-SHIFT trick to get to the hidden views.

I don’t know the CTRL_SHIFT trick.

Whenever I try and open the bookmarks database it just opens my welcome page.

How does the trick work?

Highlight the bookmark.nsf database icon in your workspace or whatever.

Holding down CTRL and SHIFT, go to the “View” menu. Select “Go To…” and choose one of the hidden views that appear. One of them will contain bookmark documents: try “(All Bookmarks)” for starters.

Thanks for that tip. In 5 years of using and administering notes I never knew about the ctrl-shidt trick!

However, I found all of the bookmarks (in the all bookmarks view) and deleted them, but they still appear on the bookmark bar. I have tried restarting my client and ctrl-shift-f9, but they refuse to budge. They do not reappear under the all bookmarks view, and I cannot see them under any other view.

Thanks for your help thus far Ben. I have already learnt something new.

No probs; in your case you may have more luck following Almar’s advice re the outline that bookmark.nsf generates.

Cheers

Almar, thanks, your solution worked.

Somehow I missed your response at the beginning, and was concentrating on Ben’s solution. I guess I’m having one of those days.

Anyhow, thanks to Almar for providing the solution and to Ben for teaching me something.

Happy days!

Now I just need to make sure Joe Cole stays at West Ham United FC.
