The most common reason this occurs is because your OOO profile document has items set that are not being properly reflected in the UI document This could be because of profile caching, bad server replica copy, or duplicate OOO profile notes.
To resolve this issue try the following steps below.
WARNING: These steps will delete your OOO profile and all its settings (custom OOO messages, user distribution lists, etc…).
The following may rectify the problem:
Make sure all replica’s of your mail file are closed except one (this means shutdown all your Notes Clients except one). Also, if you are using a local replica of your mail file make sure you switch to a server replica.
Open your mail file on the one client and press this button => (You should get a message that your Out of office profile was deleted. If you get multiple messages then that means you had duplicate OOO profiles. If you get nothing or the message that it could not be removed then we need to do some further investigation).
Close your one open mail file and shutdown the Notes Client.
Restart the Notes Client and check your profile (it should now be reset to the default values).
If you have a mail file on multiple Notes server allow some time for the changes to replicate and the profile cache to update on all your server replicas. Please confirm OOO is disabled before replicating with or using your local replica. Also, do not switch to a local replica of your mail file until you have replicated the changes down to the local replica. If the problem reoccurs after replicating with your local replica or after after a 1 - 2 days we will need to investigate further. Could be you have a corrupted or out of date replica with bad profile data.
Hey Guys,Thanks for that, i think i found the problem. Went on the server and opened his mail file. checked the out of office agent and it was enabled.
I’m guessing he was using a local replica and he had disabled it on that and the server replica still had it enabled.
a couple of interesting occurrences like this with 8.5. One can occur when the administration server is not the server that is listed as the user’s home mail server. Change it to match, Enable/Disable and it clears itself up…
We have also seen it when a mail85 mail file gets the OOO enabled in a 7.0x client. Replace the design, Enable/Disable and it clears itself up.
