On two applications, one containing an Authors field, and one that does not contain any restricting fields, for each application I have a user (and no other user with the same access is having the same problem), who is getting prompted to select server when they click in a view, to view a document. They simply click ok or cancel and the document still opens. The administator and I have been working on this issue for a while. If we take that person’s ID and put it on our computer and sign in, we don’t get the same error, it only happens from their computer. They both have reader access to the database they are accessing, they can open the databases without problems. Has anyone experience this same issue?

Subject: One User is prompted to select server, but not others
Hi Sheryl
did you ever figure out what was causing that problem, I have the exact same issue. Only happening to one user, everyone else seems fine, I can’t think of what is doing this.
Any help would be great.
thanks
Sorcha

Could be a connectivity issue. Do you get the same behaviour with different IDs from that particular workstation? Does a connection document for the server (by IP address rather than machine name) improve things?
