ONE user has a problem getting mails with attachments from ONE particular person

I’m sorry to flood the forum with a zillion questions.

I have one particular user who can’t get mails with attachments from one particular sender. He gets the e-mails but with a winmail.dat attachment instead of the pdf or doc documents he’s supposed to have. I have read that the winmail.dat problem is because of a setting with Outlook/Exchange, and I was prepared to tell him that the problem isn’t on our (or his) side but at the sender’s…until I asked him to ask the sender to send the files again to him and to me. Well, I got the attachments as they’re supposed to be: a pdf and a doc document.

I’ve checked our spam filter but nothing is held there, as we both got the e-mail (tho with different attachments). What else can I check out?

Check each of your person documents in the name and address book.

Under the Mail section, there is a field labeled

‘Format preference for incoming mail’

Are they the same for each of you?
