Is it just me? Right now, it’s been opening a folder over the network for the past 10 minutes. At least I’m getting caught up on newspaper headlines in another window while waiting.
Subject: Re: Speed of Designer Client
There seem to be a number of posts recently complaining about the Designer Client, when at the same time there are a lot of references on the web to the upcoming release of 8.5.1. Are the two linked? Yes, there are issues with the 8.5 designer client, but 8.5.1 is due out in the next couple of months and the comments on blogs etc are all very positive about the improvements.
I don’t think complaining about 8.5 will have any effect on the release date of 8.5.1.

Like I think it would?? But at the time, I had no way of knowing if it was just me or not, so the “complaining” did have the effect of letting me know it wasn’t, and that some relief was coming :}

It’s a dog…and 8.5.1 can’t come soon enough. I sure as hell hope the designer is 80% faster as has been reported from users with the beta, but still. How could the designer even be released with 8.5 with this performance, really?

I only wish they don’t put Eclipse in the Admin Client. That will be a nightmare.
