A few users have mentioned to me that after their client locks up or disconnects from the network and they reboot, sometimes old emails that have been long deleted reappear in their inboxes. Strangest thing is that once they reboot again, the old emails vanish. The user says that these emails were in fact deleted, and that they were not sitting in her trash bin. Also, she says hat she did not archive all these old emails. Any idea why this could be happening?
thanks
Subject: Old notes emails reappear after Notes crash
Most likely culprit is an out of date replica of their mail files on their workstation. After they lose connectivity to the mail server and relaunch Notes, the client searches for a replica copy of their mailbox it can open, after trying the mail server and any cluster server(s), the client will open the local replica.
Easiest solution to that is to delete and recreate the user’s local mail file replica, and then make sure their replication settings are correct with scheduled replication enabled when they’re on-line.
