I have a user asking about the old one week calendar view (6.x, 7.x era) with the two columns (Mon, Tue, Wed, on the left; Thu, Fri, Sat/Sun on the right). Is this no longer available with the 8.x template?
Subject: 2 week view missing as well
I use the 2 week view almost exclusively, as it fits everything I need to on the screen nicely.
Please can we get this back as well?
Subject: Calendar View issues
Same comments as many others so just echoing a bit:1) Bring back 2 week views
-
Bring back Diary format for week
-
Sort out presentation of entries within week view, as either the text is too large or the box too small as text wrap sometimes leads to entries spanning multiple hours with text displaying

Subject: R7 week view
I would echo that I would very very much like to have the old R7 One Week calendar view.
Subject: No, the boxed 7 day format is not available in 8.x

Subject: I agree with Michael
Missing the blocked calendar format is one of the reasons why we still use the 8.5 basic client instead of the 8.5 eclipse client.
Subject: User complaints
We recently upgraded from 6.5 to 8.5, and this is the single most requested feature by our users: the old blocked calender format. The new format is sometimes way too cluttered. Resource reservations + meetings + reminders = unreadable view. So if it can be brought back: yes please
Subject: Second the motion - bring back the view
I am getting the same complaints about the missing view. I can see the design element - it is still in the template.
John Lance - any chance we can get it back in the next minor release?

Subject: Try Ctrl-Alt Open Calendar
Can anyone tell me why I shouldn’t tell my users about this? Looks like some functionality is lost, but at least they can open up a second tab and see their calendar in the old weekly view.

Subject: Works nice, but is it possible to bookmark this?
Subject: Sort of
This is a belated addition to this thread, but found myself investigating this when some admins found their “favorite” calendar view was eliminated.
You CAN get to the “old” week view by opening the calendar with a CTRL-ALT and then click open.
You can bookmark the calendar (like, an admin can bookmark their manager’s calendar), but you still need the CTRL-ALT combo before you click it.
However, that DOES work just fine …
Would be better to have that choice be there …
Subject: Still used in check calendar
That format is still available with the Check Calendar action, so the design element is still in the template.
John, would the design team entertain freshening up the look of that calendar format and include it in a future release?
