Off Topic...waaaaaay off topic

I realize this is inappropriate for this forum, but I think this is a good cause so I’m going to burn some of what I hope is good karma I’ve accumulated as a participant in this forum…

Take it off…

Take it ALL off…

Off my head, that is.

And help a couple of charities at the same time

I’m going to say bye-bye to my flowing locks, and I am hoping the good people of this forum can help out.

Gilford Township, New Hampshire municipal employees (of which my wife is one) participates in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fund raiser each year where participants shave their heads and donate collected funds for childhood cancer research. Timing issues make it impossible for me to join the Gilford team so I am doing a ‘virtual event’ donation.

In addition, since I have such long flowing hair, the ‘tail’ gets donated to the Locks of Love foundation which helps disadvantaged kids with medical hair loss. (http://www.locksoflove.org/)

Two good deeds for the price of one.

is the site where you can donate to St. Baldrick’s AND guarantee that I go from hippy freak to boot camp in a few minutes!

The new ‘do’ is scheduled for June 7. Tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell the weird cat lady down the street…donate early, donate often, or just pass this message along.

Thank you.

Doug

Yeah…My Wife just cut her nice waist length long hair and donated it to charity…Locks of Love. I can’t say I “admired” her sacrifice. Call me selfish or whatever you like. Thankfully, she has agreed to grow it back.

Tim, can you post pictures so we can share in her sacrifice? It will make your burden less heavy.

Subject: Good on ya Doug!!

Subject: Thanks for the kind words

The nice thing about hair is that it grows back. I can start with a clean slate and grow it back out until I like what I see. Of course, if it turns out I have lumps, bumps, and knobs on the old cranium…might be a bad decision.
