I am planning to upgrade our Notes Server from 7.0.3 to 8.5.1
After upgrade if I compact all databases to ODS51 - can I still use these databases with ODS51 with a 7.0.2 client? Are there any issues with this scenario?
I ask because I cannot find an answear to this question anywhere…

An 8.5.1 server can serve up databases to any former client version, you’d be just fine using a 4.x client for example.
The ODS format used by the 8.5.1 server has no relevance here, it’s simply the format on which the data is stored on the server hard disk.
The only time it would be a problem is if you copied a .nsf file at OS level across to an older client and tried to open it, this wouldn’t work. Any database copied or replicated in Notes is just fine.
