ODBC text-driver win64bit/notes64bit

tech. addition → Platform : Windows 2008 Server 64 bit

Hi Notes-Community,

first at all, writing from Germany please excuse my may worse english …

I am a notes-developer and have to migrate a database from

Notes 6.5.x 32bit (running on Win2k3Srv 32 bit)

to

Notes 8.0.1-64 bit running on Win2008-Server 64 bit

In this application a SAP-generated text-file is read by notes and its data is generated to several notes-documents. I use ODBC to read the text-file-data.

Today our hoster told me, that there is no odbc-text-driver available using win2k8-server 64 bit.

I read hundrets of forums but they only talk about using a 32bit-App in a 64bit-OS environment.

Is it true, that i can’t use my odbc-connection in future ???

what possibilities are there instead ???

I hope anyone can help me

best regards

Subject: Try this

Microsoft released this in December 2010:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=C06B8369-60DD-4B64-A44B-84B371EDE16D&displaylang=en

It’s the Access Database Engine Office 2010 Distributable and it does have a 64 bit version with ODBC drivers.

Subject: Thanks Paul

Hi Paul,

thank you very much for your working answer.

Domino now can read/write to the text-file.

However, now i got the next problem by writing to the file (which happens not every time)

I’ll publish it in a new post.

Thanks again

Stephan
