ODBC DBlookup fails when Data Type is Text

I have an ODBC @DBlookup that works great

I do numerous lookups to an SQL database without problem. I recently added a new lookup to get comments from my records and the data type of the column I want to return is Text.

It fails with an error: “Could not execute @db function”

I changed the column’s data type to Char and the lookup worked without error.

The problem is, the column needs to be data type text.

Any workaround for this problem?
