OCIXMLTypeGetNS Error

HiHaving a little problem with the servers and as I’m a Development person, finding I am drowning!

Our installation team installed the Oracle client on our test server (supposed to be a mirror of the prod server). The scheduled agent that communicates between Domino / Notes and Oracle works OK.

Tried the same thing on a production server…and we get problems.

Either the server crashes or seems to hang for a while (as I’m not the server admin I can’t give much more info). A entry in the log gives the error message:

Error cleaning up agent threads (? not heard of that one).

There are other error message displayed on the server (as I understand it):

The procedure entry point OCIXMLTypeGetNS could not be located in the dynamic link library oraclient9.dll

The above message has the titles nAMgr.exe - entry point not found and also nserver.exe - entry point not found. I think this seems to indicate that the agent manager on the server calls something in an Oracle client that doesn’t seem to be there.

Another point, there seems to be an older version of the Oracle client on the Production server. Thought that might cause a problem. However, I’m told that the installation screen (used to install Oracle) doesn’t have the ‘Uninstall’ option so it aparently can’t be removed.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated
