Obsolete server names in catalog.nsf

I have a single development server which has had three different names (even different orgs/domains) over the last 6 years. Each ‘upgrade’ I did preserve some of the files.

Today I noticed that catalog.nsf has entries for databases on these old server names. I deleted all the records in catalog.nsf and ran “Lo Catalog” on the server. It re-added entries for those old server names.

Is there a flag inside the NSF indicating a servername? If so how can I clear this flag?

I’ve been slightly irritated by having these old server names appear in my File>Database>Open dialog, but assumed that I must still have an icon on my workspace which references the old servername. However, this is a client setting - the catalog task would have no idea of the database icons on my workspace. Right?

Any ideas on how I can purge these old references?

Thanks in advance,
