Can a domino server setting on the DMZ re-direct iNotes mail file request from the internet to a server behind the firewall without having to replicate the mail files to the server on the DMZ?
Currently, we have a mail server behind the firewall and another server providing iNotes on the DMZ. We replicate the mail files from the mail server behind the firewall to the server on the DMZ and it takes care of iNotes and application web access.
Now we want to move the current server on the DMZ behind the firewall and replace it with a windows 2003 server that would only provide iNotes acess and some limited application web access.
The straight forward thing to do is to replicate the mail files onto the new server and then move the original server behind the firewall. But, the question was asked could we skip the replication and just do some sort of re-direct when an iNotes users tries to open their mail file on the new server? eg, re-direct the request behind the firewall to the original server we want to move.
