Nrouter taking 95% of the CPU

Hi We have Domino R6.5.1 server. We are facing unusually high COU utilization on the router task(Nrouter.exe). All other services run fine.

We have:

  1. No spam attacks as we are using third party Antispam software which doesnt allow tthe spammed traffic to reach the domino server.

  2. We have enough CPU (2.8 Ghz) and RAM(1 GB)

  3. There are no dead mails and pending mails never grow above 5.

Any quick help would be appreciated.

I had a smiloar problem just last week. My server was running Symentec Antivirus for DOmino (or whatever they’re calling it now) version 4.0.0.2.I called symantec after IBM said they were the cause of the crash after analysing my NSD. They said that similar problems were reported and the fix was in the latest version, 4.1.0.whatever. If you’re using Symantec I’d give them a call.

Yes, make sure you’re running the latest version of any AV program you’re running. Also, consider pushing out any udelivered mail (route all), shutting down the router, and deleting mail.box, the restart the router to rebuild mail.box.
