NotesUIView

Hi everyone. I have a question for you.

Have you ever seen a NotesUIView.View property contain a different view that the one referred to by the NotesUIView?

I have and I can recreate the behaviour.

  1. Create a personal calendar view.

  2. Add an action button to it to call a lotusscript agent containing the following code in its init section.

    Set ws = new NotesUIWorkspace

             Set uiview = ws.CurrentView

    Set view = uiview.View

Msgbox "The backend view name is " & view.Name

  3. Observe the weirdness.

I searched the forums for this and could find no previous mention of it. My apologies if this topic has already been covered.

Just to let you knw, I can’t recreate that, I’m using 6.5.3 client, so not sure if it’s a bug in 6.5.5

Thanks for trying Dan. My 6.5.5 client does this every time with personal views. I have tried it on both template and database files and got the same behavior. I have also tried it on both server and local copies and again, it always does the same thing. The view property does not contain the proper view. It picks one at random when the view is created and then sticks with it. It I delete the workspace icon and then build another one - it will pick a different back-end view. Very strange.
