NotesSQL ODBC Driver not retrieving list of databases

Hello. My first post and first week on my new job. Our company uses Lotus Notes and for me it has been first time since OS2/Warp that I have been using it. Needless to say it has changed.

Our company upgraded to version 8.0 from 6.5 about a month ago. Upgrade went well but some issues with ODBC to Crystal Reports have come up.

My problem right now is creating an ODBC Datasource Name for NotesSQL.

I can enter my Datasource Name, Server Name but when I click on the down arrow for Database, I do not get a list of databases off the server.

Why?

I can also go to options and load up an ID file but still the resulting ODBC Databasource does not work in Crystal as I get prompted for username and password and then get an error message saying Bad Login.

There is a computer in the office beloging to one of the analyst which does not have this problem. Using same names and login and passwords one can retrieve the database list.

I tried a few ideas I found around on the net. I did check that my Notes.ini path is correct in the path statement. I did doublecheck that my NotesSQL.cfg file has the right path pointing to the ID file. I did check the registry to make sure the path is correct. I’m puzzled what the issue is.

Thanks for your responses.

Subject: Notes SQL 8

Are you using NotesSQL version 8?

Subject: yes

Yes. I am using NotesSQL version 8

One thing I noticed was that the NotesSQL directory is not in the PATH statement. Does it need to be ?

To summarize:

NotesSQL.cfg is in

C:\program files\ibm\notes

There is a NotesSQL folder at:

C:\program files\NotesSQL

Subject: Perhaps an issue in authorizing ID files?

I think the issue perhaps is in a glitch of authorizing ID files. We had an upgrade from 6.5 to 8.0. Are there any tests that I could run that would move me closer to understanding what the solutions might be?

Subject: update

Hello, did you find the solution ? I am experiencing the same problem but I installed Notes 7 on a Ms Vista pc.

thanks
