NotesSQL, Excel and Password

I inherited an excel spreadsheet with a macro, developed by a co-op student several years ago. The macro uses a ODBC external data link via NotesSQL 3.02g to pull in data.

It works great only the password is embedded, so I see the following:

…

With ActiveSheet.QueryTables.Add(Connection:= _

Array( _

        Array("ODBC;DSN=Payroll Con 77;Database=R&BD\CAN\Payroll.nsf;Server=SERVER01/SRV/COMPANY;UserName=Joe Smith/Company;"), _

        Array("EncryptPWD=1FA4DBE955A914706E7316B0A584C1BE1715D70BB92B28C35951EEF79E24726D5530AE9A;MaxSubquery=20;MaxStmtLen=4096;MaxRels=20;MaxVarcharLen=254;Ke"), _

        Array("epTempIdx=1;MaxLongVarcharLen=512;ShowImplicitFlds=0;MapSpecialChars=1;ThreadTimeout=60;") _

    ), _

…

I’m ultimately probably going to remove the EncryptPWD hoping the user will be prompted.

But for my own learning and understanding? Where did the encrypted password information come from? I tried to record a macro and enter my password - didn’t save it (see mostly everything else).

I tried to use my LN public key to encrpt my password and put that in… It was much shorted and didn’t work.

Done a bunch of searching on Google and the M$ site and just haven’t found anything to tell me how to create the EncryptPWD (I’ve found other examples where people say they have set it)

I’m hoping someone here can tell me how to create it and if I take it out will the users always get prompted?
