NotesSQL 3.02j ODBC error 126 when adding DSN

I’ve just installed the ODBC driver. Install looked as if it went smoothly.

When trying to add a DSN via the MS ODBC Data Source Administrator I get the following errors:

“The setup routines for the Lotus NotesSQL Driver (*.nsf) ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126.”

"Driver’s ConfigDSN, Config Driver, or ConfigTranslator failed

Could not load the setup or translator library"

I checked and the PATH envrionment variable didn’t have a reference to C:\Lotus\Notes or C:\NotesSQL as it looks like it should. I added them but still no success. My registry entries look okay too.

Is anyone else having this problem?

When trying to create a new data source if you get’The setup routines for the Lotus Notes SQL Driver (*.nsf) ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126’

one thing to check is that you didn’t put a space in the Path env variable before the path to your notes.ini file, so …

“c:\utilities;C:\Program Files\lotus\notes; C:\NotesSQL” = GOOD …

even if there is a space before the c:\NotesSQL.

However

“c:\utilities; C:\Program Files\lotus\notes; C:\NotesSQL” = BAD = … error code 126 (space after ‘utilities;’)

I fixed it - I added both keys instead of trying one at a time to the Path environment variable and it worked fine.

What do you mean both keys?? I am having the same problem and don’t understand your fix. Thanks for your help

I believe both ‘keys’ refers to adding both the Notes and NotesSQL install directories to the Path variables.

Where are the path variables? where can I update / add them?I was using the previous version of this NOTES SQL but with this one I have this error.

your help is much appreciated.

@Sheila: You need to add path of notes.ini to your PATH variable too as written in this article http://hintdesk.com/c-lotus-notessql-driver-install-configure-and-connect-to-server-through-odbc/

Subject: NotesSQL 3.02j ODBC error 126 when adding DSN

add to PATH variable

For single user Notes installation
  1. path to NotesSQL (C:\NotesSQL)

  2. path to notes.ini (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data)

For multi user Notes installation
  1. path to NotesSQL (C:\NotesSQL)

  2. path to notes.ini (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data)

  3. path to Lotus Notes itself (C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes)

------- this is PATH variable for my system-----------------

example: Path=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn;C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lotus\Notes\Data;C:\NotesSQL;C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes\

Subject: RE: NotesSQL 3.02j ODBC error 126 when adding DSN

Sorry

path to notes.ini for single user notes installation is the same as to nlnotes.exe. So you should add ";C:\NotesSQL;C:\Program Files\IBM\Lotus\Notes" to path variable

Subject: NotesSQL 8/8.5 ODBC error 126 when adding DSN

My experience is that I couldn’t define a DSN until I installed NotesSQL into a simply named folder. I.e. when I installed it into C:\Lotus\Notes SQL 8.5\ it didn’t work. But on uninstalling and reinstalling into C:\Lotus\NotesSQL\ it worked. (and having added it to the Path env var).

Hope that helps someone.

I am receiving this error with NotesSQL installed on a Windows 7 machine. Everything seems to be installed correctly. Has anyone else had this issue on Windows 7 before?

Thanks.
