I have a question about the NotesIDVault policy setting that is created when you setup the ID Vault. The setting that I am wondering about is this one:
Now, if I read the documentation correctly, this should allow iNotes users to grab their Notes ID’s and put them into their mailfiles, correct?
The users that I have weren’t registered as iNotes users, but regular Lotus Notes users who use iNotes as their primary means to get their email.
If someone could let me know if my assumptions are correct, that would be great.
Subject: That setting enables iNotes/Traveler/BES/etc to sync with the Notes ID vault, yes
If that setting is enabled for a vaulted user, and their iNotes server and the vault server are both running 8.5.1 or better, then all that those users need to do to import their Notes IDs into their mail files is to perform a secure mail operation over iNotes – attempt to send a signed message or read an encrypted message. The iNotes server will then sync the ID in the mail file with the ID in the vault, including provisioning the ID file in either direction if either place is missing that user’s ID.
