NotesDXLImporter and getting newly created design elements

I am using the NotesDXLImporter to create a new form. (I am actually overwriting an existing form.) After its done, I would like to display that form in a dialog box.

The problem is that it never gets the most recent version of the form. It shows me the version of the form prior to the update.

I’ve tried to use notesTimer and the sleep method to slow down my script, but it doesn’t make a difference.

How can I get a handle to the newly created element?

My next idea was to split my script up into 2 different agents. The 2nd agent would start by opening the dialog box. Hopefully this allow me to get the newest version of the form.

Thank you, Eric

Does the new form ever show up?

If not, I would suggest that you check the value of the NotesDXLImporter.DesignImportOption (by default it ignores design elements.) If you want it to overwrite, you will want to use the value DXLIMPORTOPTION_REPLACE_ELSE_CREATE (6)

This one isn’t real clear in the documentation and it usually trips up people the first time they try to import a design element.

Yes, the new form does show up. But not while running my same agent. If I stop and attempt to access it in another fashion, then its the current form. But I can’t immediately call on the form right after creating it.

I think I need to refresh my list of forms, but how?

If I use: set db = nothing, then get a handle to it again, perhaps that might reload the list of forms. I’ll have to try that next.

Or like I said, using the 2 agent trick, but I want to avoid that.
