Notes view/fixup performance on Win XP Pro x64

Hello,

I took a dive into 64 bit computing and configured an Intel 64 bit CPU based system running XP Pro x64. I’m running Notes 7, and the computer has 1gb of memory. Under most circumstances, every thing is fine, however I notice on large view rebuild (or complex views with lots of documents), all my available memory pretty much gets eaten up. Task mgr doesn’t does say much in terms of memory allocation to Notes processes but this problem only occurs (that I’ve noticed) on large view rebuilds, and fixups (as a result sometimes I kill Notes and start it back up again in which I get back most of the memory). Starting up Notes again causes a fixup on the db I was last in (which is a 2GB+ db) and that also consume 99% of my memory. At that point the computer is unusable and I have to wait until Notes has completed the activity. It does eventually seem to settle out if I leave it long enough, but is a bit unimpressive.

Anyway I’m going to dig deeper into it and see what I can uncover and share, but I wanted to see if anyone is using Notes on Intel 64 bit cpus and XP Pro x64 and what your impressions are.

Thank You!

Hello Michael,

In the last couple of days ant searching all over ther place to find out an answer to asimple question:

Lotus Nots is working in x64 Windows environment?

The reason I want to find an aswer is because I’m in a test phase with a x64 Windows 2003 Terminal Server and my Lotus Notes 7.0.2 does not run at all. I double click on the icon, the main yellow screen appears and after 2 second is gone.

I would like mor infor about what shouls I have to do to have Notes Client (version 7) working in a 64 bit Windows enviromnent.

Any thoughs will be very apreciated!

Thanks,

Gabriel Sirbu
