Notes UI Clasess and Scheduled Agents - Julie K. Help Please!

Hi! I know I´m facing an “old problem”.Is there a way we can use notesUIDocument class in an schedule agent?.

I need to open a document from a view (edit document), and print it as PDF, obviously it works fine if it is started from Action Menu, but I need to automate the process.

Any ideas? Suggestions? A trick?

TIA.

  • I would think some third-party tool could do this quite easily, though I’ve not had to do it so no such tools spring to mind. It has to be a common and easily solvable problem.- Hope this helps…

Can’t be done. How would you get a UI handle when there is no UI to be found?

Why can’t you just grab the back end doc and modify that into a PDF?

How about setting up a dedicated machine running a notes client, and scheduling the agent to run on the client?

(This is a WAG, I don’t know if it will work or not).

Will work. We have a third party product handling pdf creation this way. However this method is a bloody pain and not that stable at all. Could be because the programming of the third party tool, could be because of the notes system.
