Notes to RDBMS

OK, I’m new to R6 and Data Connections, and I’ve searched this forum as best I can and can see no similar question raised in the past.I have set up a data connection between a Notes database and an Access database and managed to import data from the Access application without a problem. My question is, is this only a one way process or how is data transferred from the Notes database to the Access database ?

Thanx in advance

Subject: Notes to RDBMS

We have invested in a tool called EcKnowledge from Casahl or some people know it as Replic-Action. This tool has made it very easy for us to move data from Notes to SQL, SQL to Oracle, etc. This tool worked well with R5 and before, however, with R6 you can setup a form and point each field directly to the database using the DSN. This allows the data to be stored directly into the database and not in the Notes document. To do this, you need to create a connection under the Shared Resources, then Create a form and then a field(R6 only) on the form. Choose External Data Source on the field, then fill out the appropriate info about the database and you are off and running. You must have the key(s) to the datasource defined on the form. I love R6.

It will all depend on how you have you connection in DECS/LEI setup. If you have a form configured to store data in the defined connection document the notes will update what ever data source you have pointed it to.

I would also like to point out that you should check the entrprise intergration forum for my questions on this topic.
